The Gulf Breeze Bait & Tackle 20th Annual Pompano Tournament is underway. It began on February 1, but will not end until the last day of May. The top ten places will be awarded with first place winning a $1,000 gift certificate. Second will receive $500, third $300, fourth $200, fifth $125, and sixth through tenth $100. The top junior and lady angler will also be awarded $150. Patsy Thomas is currently leading the tournament with a 3.65 pound pompano followed by Joe Prestridge at 2.57, Larry Jowers at 2.50, Wade White at 2.43, and and Will Neumann with 2.25. The top junior angler so far is Maxwell Jowers with a 2.92 pounder and the top lady angler is Callie Neumann at 2.08 pounds. The entry is $20 and you can sign up anytime throughout the tournament, but must wait to weigh a fish. Anglers who enter the tournament will receive a t-shirt with their entry.
